This newborn session holds a very special place in my heart.  Brittney and I went to college together and reconnected over social media when I shared our son, Gatlin’s story last year.  Brittney became pregnant with twins soon after and started having some complications with her precious girls as well.  We connected over our similar journies and cheered each other on through it all!  Brittany & Ryan’s girls were born at 24 weeks gestation and spent many days in the NICU, but they are home now and thriving!  They really are little miracles that fought so hard to be here.  I could go on and on about the challenges you are faced with when you have a premature baby; the immense stress of not knowing if your baby is going to make it, not being able to hold your baby once they are born, trying to understand and learn all of the information doctors are throwing your way, just wanting your baby home with you, etc.  This couple experienced all of this but double, with their twins.  I can’t even imagine what they went through and it just shows how strong of a couple they really are.  I am a firm believer that you aren’t dealt what you can’t handle, which shows you what warriors they all truly are, baby girls included!  This session was a celebration – a celebration of all they have accomplished and the amazing journey they have ahead with their girls.  It was truly an honor to document this special time for this family and I am beyond happy for them!  It’s sessions like these that really remind me of why I love doing what I do!  Getting to capture moments in time that mean so much.  Thank you Brittney & Ryan for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family!!
