Lately, I have loved creating floral arrangements using Trader Joe’s flowers and also some other greenery I find in my garden.  I am by no means a florist but creating these arrangements really help me relax and bring me joy.  So whenever I walk into Trader Joe’s and see that they have a selection of flowers that I like, I grab them and start creating!  I will be linking where I get certain products down below to make it easy for you if you decide you want to try this yourself!  Anyways, I hope you enjoy this post!

I first wanted to share a few items that I have that are helpful when making a floral arrangement.  I purchased this Mercury glass bowl off of Amazon and absolutely love it.  I love the silver metallic color and I feel it really makes the arrangement “pop.”  The dimensions are 6.25″ Tall x 7.75″ Wide.  I feel like it is a really great size for a full arrangement.  There are tons of different options out there for vases, so I would just suggest finding one you really like!

Next, you will need a good pair of shears!  I have tried doing floral work in the past with just normal kitchen scissors and let me tell you, it is not easy.

There are a few different tools you can use to arrange your flowers, but I have been loving these OASIS floral foam bricks. I also got these on Amazon!  Can you tell I like Amazon?  haha First you will cut your foam block to be the size you need.  Then, you submerge your block in water for a few minutes until it stops bubbling and then you can place it in your vase.  Make sure you simply drop the foam in a large bucket of cold water and let it sink down on its own.  Do not press and force it to submerge.  It will not soak properly and the inside will not be wet, leaving your flowers with no water to soak in.  Once you are ready to begin arranging, simply place the stems into the foam!  However, make sure you clip the stems before placing them.  You want them to be cut fresh so they can soak in as much water as possible and last longer.  I first like to start with my greenery and then add the flowers.  It is a lot of trial and error to get the look you want, but that is what is so fun.  If you change your mind and want to remove a stem from the foam, just make sure when putting it back in you place it in a new spot.  Simple as that!

Because I am not a florist and I just like doing this for fun, I just get my flowers from Trader Joe’s and also will see what I can find in my backyard!  Trader Joes’s can be hit or miss, but when they do have some great flowers they are always such a great price!  I have listed the flowers I used for this arrangement below and what they cost.  These prices may vary but they are usually pretty reasonable.

After playing around for a while, I came up with this!  Check out the image below to see the finished product!

Lately, I want to find any reason to make an arrangement!  You can create these for parties, housewarming gifts, small gatherings at your home, or even just for yourself to enjoy!  Please let me know if you try this yourself!  I hope you enjoyed this little blog post!
